Oh Lord 2011
Prayer:
Lord, 2010 was a miserable, heinous excuse for a year.
I will take some responsibility for this.
The devil tempted me and led me to the false promised land of Colorado. I followed willingly, dragged down by carefree living, clean air and the best beer on this Earth. Moreso, the company which pays my devil’s dues is next door to a devil marijuana growing facility. Lord, I am sorry...

It’s real nice here.

An unrecorded song
(just found scribbled on the back of a bar receipt; an old timey banjo tune sang through a megaphone)
We got rifles we got guns! We got CinnaSticky Buns! We got coffee beans they’re certified fair trade!
We take credit we take cash! What it takes to throw this bash! We got lemons but we can’t make lemonade!
Let’s buy it now we’ll pay tomorrow And then drink away the...

My New Bed Friend or How I Learned to Stop...
Opus came to bed with us last night. I guess it’s for the best. Maybe with time we’ll learn to truly love one another. Apparently, I stop breathing a good 60-70 times per night, but good ol’ Opus should put an end to such troubles. I’d like to that the academy and the patience of my wife and two dogs for this honor.

The Book
I’ve created a very rough outline of ‘the book — a memoir focused on family and my relationship to food.
My agent and I have been in contact with a few publishers. All of them sound interested and feel it holds a lot of promise. My goal is to get it out in the world before Oprah is cancelled. I think she’s really going to like it.
Shatner on tinnitus
‘For the first five or six years, it slowly and steadily became louder… I remember one man I met, a world-renowned expert. He had it. He’d gotten his more or less at the time I’d gotten mine, and our progressions were very similar. And as we talked, we both acknowledged out loud, for the first time, what we each had not been, alone, man enough to admit: that we would never...

'The first step is half the journey'
Some would argue Steve Perry was half the Journey.
I’ve got about 4 different book/screenplay ideas jumping around in my head. There’s no time like 2010 to want to publish a book! Hm… probably too early to give up on music, though, also a highly profitable time killer. Wall Street thinks of cutting back bonuses from 8 to 7 figures this year and I’m wondering if maybe I...

Some Things I've Actively Quit
at some point (in no order) within the last 37 years* *some actions were/may be restarted and/or have been quit multiple times:
diapers, crawling, wearing braces, classroom education, meat, carbs, living alone, feeling owed, monogamy, feeling guilt, drinking milk, not working, cigarettes, polygamy, wearing kilts, drinking alcohol, moping, working full time, thinking I’m special,...
